Having to wait for tests and operations seem to be one of the reasons some people don’t like Canada’s Medical Insurance. Here’s some experiences I’ve had lately.
I’ve had no problem getting into see my doctor or getting some preventative tests. But my dental work! That’s another story.
I have had to wait two months to get my teeth cleaned. The specialist was going to make me wait a month to have a tooth out, but I managed to get them to make it two weeks. (It hurts, thank goodness for pain meds) And that is after a couple of months of waiting for exam and root canal that didn’t work. All this was covered by a dental insurance plan that has nothing to do with the government.
Just becuase it’s a private plan doesn’t mean you’ll get things done any faster.
